WILD THINGS’ FORTS

wild_things_forts_06

Over at BOOOOOOOM!, they held a competition to win some exclusive goodies from the movie ‘Where the wild things are’  (which I am sooo excited for!), all you had to do was build a fort and send in pictures.  And boy, did they build forts.  So many beautiful pictures came out of it, I couldn’t wait to share.

You can see all the entries here.  I will now be fighting the urge to start gathering blankets, christmass lights and stuffed animals.

ALICE IN WATERLAND

Down the rabbit hole

If the title of my blog didn’t give away my love for Alice in Wonderland, maybe this post will.  The surreal world of Wonderland fascinates me like no other, and combining this with underwater photography, makes it even better.   Sugarock made this amazing set called Alice in Waterland, among other underwater projects that all of you certainly have to take a look at.  Excuse me for the ridiculous amount of pictures in one post, I couldn’t just pick a few, since they’re all marvellous.  If you want to see all 25 photographs, take a look at her flickrpage!Alice

This collaboration between Macushla Burke and Kelly Smith has been in my inspiration folder for quite some time now.  The pictures have been on many many blogs, but I still felt like I had to do them justice and post them aswell.  The dreamy photography of Macushla in combination with Kelly Smith’s surreal illustrations is just p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

THE ONES WE LOVE

The Ones We Love is a project highlighting young and talented photographers from around the world. Each artist contributed six photographs of the person(s) who is most important to them, taken outdoors in a natural setting. The goal of the website is to portray the people who are loved, cherished, and inspirational to these artists, and also showcase the differences and similarities in the photographs each of them took within the same guidelines.

What a great project… I can spend hours browsing through these pictures of loved ones.  Makes me want to portray all the people I love and frame them on my bedroom walls.

If I had all the money in the world… [Fragile Future]

fragile-future

…I would be happy spend it on Design Drift’s ‘Fragile Future’ lightsculpture.

“Fragile Future is about the amalgamation of nature and technology.
In the distant future these two extremes have made a pact to survive. Fragile Future combines an electronical systems with real dandelions in a lightsculpture that is predestined to overgrows a surfase. Electronics are driven by the natural survival instincts. The fragile installation protects itself by pretending to be out of order when someone comes too close (optional). This is the same mechanism as a poppy that drops its petal when you pick it, or a ladybird that acts as dead in your hand when caught.”

Doesn’t this look like it’s straight out of a magical fairy tale?

Dreams of flying.

This is a concept I’ve been wanting to try for a long time… I just haven’t figured out how I can get myself safely to this point of view and I might need a few people willing to model… Maybe a project for the future, preferablywhen I have no deadlines or finals waiting for me?  I’ll try to give it a shot in a month or 2. (Yes, it’s that long until I finally will have some sparetime!)
