My name is Hannelore Veelaert and I am a freelance photographer, content creator and social media strategist based in Antwerp. In 2009, during my studies in architecture, I started this blog to share all the wonderful things I found (both on line and in real life) with the world. Six years later, this blog has evolved into a place where I use photography to express and explore my love for beautiful homes, fascinating people, inspiring architecture, amazing cities and their most interesting places, complemented by collections of all kinds of beautiful items. This is Au pays des merveilles, my wonderland.
Even though I don’t work as an architect anymore, my love for architecture and interior design will never fade, and has become to main focus of this blog and my work in general.
I’ve always been fascinated with Scandinavia and its inhabitants’ impeccable sense of style, but when I spent five months in Lisbon, I fell head over heels in love with that Portuguese city. I’m a vegetarian and try to implement that consciousness in other parts of my life as well. I believe in minimalism, not only as a sense of style but also as a way of life. When I’m not behind a desk or a camera, you can probably find me exploring a new (or not so new) city, cooking a vegan dish, dancing at a concert or immersed in some d.i.y.-project, as those are my favorite things to do.
Have a look around and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any feedback or suggestions, or just want to chat!
