LIFE IN APRIL

au pays des merveilles life in april

Now that I have a fancy phone with a somewhat decent camera and an instagram account, I figured I would share a monthly “instadiary”.  Not to worry, I’ve included a few other shots that didn’t make it to instagram, to keep it interesting for those of you who already follow me there!  My life lately revolved mostly around writing my thesis (which explains why it has been so quiet here lately), with a few blog events (where I finally got to meet a lot of lovely other bloggers!) and photography jobs in between.

deer head made by my little sister (you can find the instructions here) // tulip from our backyard (city gardens aren’t so bad apparently!) // I treated my self to two pairs of black flats: croco slip-ons from pimkie and pony hair loafers from h&m // mail for my friend Luis Kevin Paraiso  in a diy envelope made from a page out of a thrifted book on gardening // white sheets // mail from that same Luis, who is one of the people behind the tumblr we palm palms // pretty light in my room // I finally put up a few photos on my wall // read an article on the “rediscovery of portugal” during breakfast, instantly took me back

au pays des merveilles life in aprilfinally got to enjoy the view from parking 58, together with my sister and cousin // came across the most fun street of Belgium, I’m sure, translated it would be “rascal street” // I always have to take a break whenever I pass by the Schelde to enjoy the view, it always takes me back to the times spent looking over the Tejo in Lisbon // my favorite building next to the train tracks between Brussels and Antwerp // close up of a model I made while working at an architecture office, I love the way the light reflects on it // sneak peek of a building I had to shoot for a job // another view of that same pretty ombré building // pretty shadows // so cliché, but so pretty // more shadows, I will never get enough!

my blog turned 5 in the beginning of april // view of the pretty scotch and soda showroom at goldwood interiors // Geox treated me to these gorgeous croco pumps // cute flamingo pick from zak!designs // Marijke came by to ask me about my 5 favorites and photograph them, soon to be seen on her blog Goesting // found beautifully packaged popcorn with sour cream and chive flavor in one of the goodie bags from the press days // beautiful invitation for the opening of the & other stories shop in Antwerp (good to know: you can start shopping there May 16 at 12), I can’t wait! // my gorgeous cousin rocking pink lipstick (YSL blush and kiss) and pink donuts // shadows at the scotch and soda showroom // another view of the scotch and soda showroom // fuji instax of me and my cousin thanks to yves saint laurent, who are also responsible for those red lips (YSL blush and kiss again) // photobooth pics from Oona’s Hunter’s Paradise party

Dankjewel! Ik heb er nooit zo over nagedacht, maar da’s inderdaad wat ik nastreef in mijn foto’s, alles wat onnodig is of afleid van de essentie weglaten :)
